Many people have wondered why the rich man in the parable of Luke 16:19-31 had to go to hell. We are not told he acquired his wealth by foul means. We are not told he was responsible for the poverty & misery of Lazarus. In fact we are not even told that Lazarus begged from him & he refused to help. All we are told is that he was feeding & clothing well as any other successful human being has a right to do. Why then did he go to hell ? If we have a proper knowledge of sin we would understand the problem of the rich man. We often think that we sin only by thought , word & deed. We forget a fourth & very important way through which we sin , namely , by omission. This parable reminds us that the sin of omission can land someone in hell. This was what happened to the rich man. SPEAK AND THINK WHO GOD SAYS YOU ARE, WHAT GOD SAYS YOU HAVE AND WHAT HE SAYS YOU CAN DO INTO EXISTENCE
If you want your circumstances to change, then you MUST change what you say about your circumstances. You can speak and think yourself out of poverty, sickness, pain, failure, stagnancy, addiction and depression. You can also speak and think yourself into poverty, sickness, pain, failure, stagnancy, addiction and depression.
Guard your heart diligently because it determines the direction of your life. Guard your mouth and ensure it releases the right kind of words. The bible says that by your words you are justified and by your words you are condemned. The power of life and death is in the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruits. God allowed the children of Israel who were rescued from slavery after 400 years to die in the wilderness and God said he did unto them as they had spoken in his ears.
Fear paralyses. Fear comes from failing to shut your ears from all the negative noises that come from your immediate environment and the media. Fear also comes from hearing yourself repeatedly speak fear, sickness, poverty, depression, downturn etc.
Sometimes you may have to keep your ears plugged to an ear phone that pumps scripture based declarations into your ear drums that you in turn repeat to yourself at home or when you are on the road. You can pump uplifting praise worship into your ears as well as uplifting messages that gives you the correct knowledge of who you are in God, what you can do in God and what you have in God.
Faith comes by hearing yourself speak who God says you are, what God says you have and what God says you can do. The more you hear yourself speak the more your faith rises and the bigger your imagination becomes. Hearing messages preached is great but please take the word of God and put it on your own lips and think and speak yourself into that breakthrough. Trust me it works. - Bunmi Awoyemi Divinewealth
